Dogs Die in Hot Cars (yes, even police cars)

Ugh. If the police don't know any better... if the head of the K9 unit doesn't know any better... how can we expect people to... to... I'm flabbergasted, that's what I am.

The investigation determined that Bandit was in the car from about 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on August 11. During that time, Lovejoy ran errands, napped and went out to eat with his wife. What's worse, Lovejoy is a 15-year police veteran and head of the K9 unit.

Don't leave your dog in the car. And if you do? Don't leave it in the car for 13 hours. In Arizona. There is no possible explanation other than simple idiocy. Some days I'm ashamed to be called human.
