North Spokane Corridor Gets its YouTube On
Thanks to MetroSpokane, I've discovered this handy youtube video of the plans for the long-promised N/S freeway (aka north Spokane corridor).
My favorite bit is when the narrator calmly explains (this happens near the end) what concrete is, and how it is a "durable surface that will withstand the traffic of thousands of trucks every day."
This is likely aimed at folks who like to complain about potholes (you know who you are), but I'm also wondering when was the last time you saw a freeway constructed of, um, let's say, ABC gum or recycled AOL discs? (And I'm also wondering if the latter isn't a bad idea... at least, they could use the discs as the "fill" to build the train tunnel, yes?)
I'm further required to wonder how many millimeters off freeway we could have purchased for what it cost to make that video. I'm guessing thirty or forty millimeters. And a half can of spray paint.
Blessings.
