Kid Recommendations from the Road
When I'm out visiting schools, I like to ask the kids (and a few of the adults... they are going to tell you anyway, so you might as well ask them) about some good books to read that I might not have heard of. I always get a wide variety of responses. So instead of just filing these away and keeping them to myself, I thought maybe I'd start to share them here. I'll use an Adaptive Blue widget to share, most likely. For now I'm not going to divide them up as "this school recommended this" or "that librarian recommended that." I'm just going to pile them on to this one widget and see how it goes.
One note before I begin, however. If you are from one of the schools I visited (I'm starting with the schools in Moscow) and suggested a book and it doesn't appear here, I'm really really sorry. Several reasons that might happen. Reason number 1: I can't read my own handwriting. I probably wrote it down too fast and just don't know what I wrote there. Reason number 2: I misspelled the book title. You'd be surprised how creative my spelling can be. Reason number 3: I just plain old couldn't find it for reasons I can't explain.
So, finally, here's the beginnings of the list. Watch it grow.
