Unchain Your Heart/Dog

It's time for "Have a Heart for Chained Dogs Week" again, wherein you can send a valentine to a chained dog and their owners, or you can volunteer your time, your money, your blog, your whatever you have... can share... can somehow move forward...

Do you know a dog that sits at the end of a chain all day? Have you done anything about it? Do you want to? What would you do, if you could? What do you want to do?

I know I have a tendency to look the other way, when I can, because otherwise I'll go insane. There's a dog who lives near us, for instance, who I know spends her day in the basement... because she wouldn't stay on her chain. She's become scared, and won't come near strangers. It's simply a matter of time before she's cornered and bites someone. And it isn't her fault.

What can I do? The people who "own" her seem to think that all they have to do is explain to her that if she just stayed on her chain in the yard that she could stay outside all day.

Ugh.

What? What to do? Ugh ugh and ugh.

Blessings, y'all. Sorry if I'm bringing you down.
