Laila Lalami Fulbright and The Road To Morocco // Beyond Hope
Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits
Laila Lalami
MoorishGirl: Fulbright: The Road To Morocco: I received word yesterday that I've been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for 2006-2007. I will be living in Casablanca for nine months, during which time I will be conducting research on Islamic extremism and secular movements for my next book, and also volunteering for a non-profit organization that provides services to disadvantaged neighborhoods.I pretty much read MoorishGirl every darn day, but generally assume most of the items there will be widely distributed by the time I get them, so I don't distribute them again here. But this is worth a hearty congratulations to Laila. I haven't read Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits yet, but I intend to. You should likely intend to too. And if you've already read it, tell me how much you loved it right here.
