Premier Pet Natural Dental Wipes for Dogs & Cats
Um, me neither. And don't go checking your calendar. I bet it's not there. It's one of those things selected as “the month to get it done” by a group or organization, this time the American Veterinary Medical Association (AMVA). Here's how they recommend you celebrate your pet during the month of February:
AVMA Press Release - February is national pet dental health month: Step 1: Visit your veterinarians for a complete check-up (you knew that was coming, didn't you):

Your pet can't tell you if he has a toothache but your veterinarian can. Your veterinarian can determine if tartar build up has started and the appropriate course of treatment what treatment. Step 2: Start a pet dental care routine at home:

Begin brushing your pet's teeth at home. It is best start them on routine brushing programs early but adult animals can be taught to tolerate brushing. Use a specially designed pet toothbrush or soft gauze. There are specially formulated toothpastes for pets. Toothpaste for humans may upset your pet's stomach. Step 3: Continue regular veterinary check ups:

Discuss your pet's dental care and diet with your veterinarian. Watch for warning signs of dental disease such as bad breath, a change in eating or chewing habits, or depression between visits.
I haven't tried them myself (I'm going to have to heed some of these recommendations, I think), but I've heard that Premier Pet Natural Dental Wipes for Dogs & Cats are pretty good... frankly, I'm having trouble imagining my extremely powerful dog sitting still for a brushing, so this will likely be right up my alley. Any recommendations on products or methods? Love to hear 'em in the comments.
