book week posterNext week starts National Children's Book Week. What does it mean?
The Children's Book Council: Children's Book Week: A celebration of the written word, Children's Book Week introduces young people to new authors and ideas in schools, libraries, homes and bookstores. Through Children's Book Week, the Children's Book Council encourages young people and their caregivers to discover the complexity of the world beyond their own experience through books. Children's Book Week will be observed November 14-20, 2005.
Now you know. But what can you do? You can read a child a book. You can buy a child a book. You can take children to the library. You can donate to the library (I bet your library needs money... mine sure as heck does.) You can write a children's book.

Me? I'm not sure all I'll do. I'll read to my kids, for starters. I'll read to them a lot. But I always do that. Does anybody have any kids books they recommend? Something I might not have read? Something that isn't already on everybody else's reading list? Something besides Goodnight Moon or The Going-To-Bed Book or Go, Dog. Go! (don't write angry letters... I love these these books, but I already know about them... tell me something I might not already know... but don't worry if I do already know, I might need to be reminded... ). Put recommendations in the comments, okay? Blessings. ♻ The Children's Book Council: Children's Book Week
