Starbucks The Way You Should See It
Apparently the students at Baylor University can't be trusted to decide whether or not to be gay, and they would likely be influenced by reading their Starbucks double half-caf latte, so the on-campus store pulled this cup out of the line-up. (In the event that the cup and quote do not appear here, I'll reprint the quote in its entirety.)My only regret about being gay is that I repressed it for so long. I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been out there loving someone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short. --Armistead Maupin
Idiotic. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but the quote doesn't seem to be about being gay so much as it is about love and loving and not wasting time getting down to the business of being in love.)
To be fair, I've read a few of the “The Way I See It” cups and been mildly perturbed by the view presented there. But it hardly made a ripple on my worldview.
Next maybe we'll be jerking our knees before we even bother to read what it is we're not supposed to read.
Or are we there already?
