Dogs and Cats and CPR

cprHere's a question for you. And don't be offended. Because I know you love your pet. Your dog or your cat or your rabbit or mongoose. But could you give them mouth to mouth?
Boca paramedic teaches pet owners to use animal CPR: South Florida Sun-Sentinel: Tim Fry is a man who has revived a ferret from insulin shock. He can do a doggie Heimlich on an overeager pooch who swallowed its chew toy, and perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a cat.

Fry is a professional lifesaver and, for him, that definition extends to all creatures. He's one of the few emergency medical technicians trained to rescue animals and humans.
I'm looking at my dog, and I'm wondering when the last time was she drank from the toilet. I'm thinking, yeah, I could maybe do it if I really needed to. But them I'm going to have to brush and floss and rinse and repeat. If I had a dog that ate her own feces? That just may be a different story.
