ASME's Top 40 Magazine Covers of the Last 40 Years aka Magazine 40x40

The American Society of Magazine Editors has selected the Magazine 40x40: ASME's TOP 40 MAGAZINE COVERS OF THE PAST 40 YEARS. Why do my favorites feature nude celebrities?

Or, rather, why do a great number of theirs feature nude celebrities?

(I'll have to go look at those again... okay, not as many as I thought...)

Or, finally, rather, why do I even have to ask this question.

(Because I'm obnoxious and it's late.)

There are really only three covers with nude celebrities. (Also a Playboy cover... and honestly, what do you expect?)

What's your favorite magazine cover from the last 40 years? Do you even have one?

I do. It's that Demi Moore one there. Nude and pregnant. Because that hit just about everyone in the stomach, as I remember it.

A lot more to look at and admire and remember than nude celebrities. I promise.
