Unevacuated Back to Houston for Pia Z.
Pia's back in Houston with a lovely post (short but lovely) that you should look at:
Pia's Nest: Unevacuated.: I've decided I like driving in the left lane beside a convoy, tucked under its wing like that. It feels safe, nice, respectful.I keep dreaming about some folks going home to NOLA, thinking their home is completely destroyed, and finding that a twenty-foot-high wall of impenetrable fiberglass was erected directly around their house and it was therefore spared all but the rain on its roof. You know, one of those houses in the middle of a firestorm that somehow manages to be untouched despite every house around it being burned to the ground. Or the miraculous tornado that seems to skip right over the two story farmhouse. I doubt very much if there will be such a house, but I will continue to dream. Perhaps I'll have the dream tonight. Right now. Going to bed.
