Keep that Dog Away from My Ginsu // Future As a Sword Swallower?

I wish I had some clever way to intro this story. I don't. Just the story. A puppy. Swallows a 13 inch knife. Vet says, “uh, that's a 13 inch knife in there.” They removed it, of course. You don't want your puppy (St. Bernard or not) to spend their life with a 13 in knife in their stomach. (And you definitely don't want them to try and pass it). Go:

CNN.com - Puppy swallows 13-inch knife - Sep 26, 2005: “I'm going to frame it and give it to Dr. Carew,” Scarola said. “He should hang it. Everybody should know what puppies are capable of putting down their throats.”

Somehow I have a feeling the puppy would rather you just tossed the knife in the nearest trash receptacle, but veterinarian is as veterinarian does.
