Leaf Books ∴ Short Fiction
I believe I may have mentioned this before, but there's a new story publisher in Wales:
icWales - Short-story chance: A new publishing company in Wales has launched a 4,000-5,000 word short-story and non-fiction competition for new and established authors. Leaf, the brainchild of Cecilia Morreau and Barrie Llewellyn, is an A6 book that is small enough to fit into a pocket.By the way, I'm perfectly aware that this may not be particularly useful for people in the U.S. (though I can't find anything on the website that excludes U.S. writers from submitting), but I would love to see a movement like this in the U.S. as well. We already have a magazine that publishes one story per issue. Why not one story per book? Are you a publisher? What do you think? A writer? How about you? Would you submit? Would you buy? Do you like to read short stories? Why or why not? Tell me in comments, okay? Read: leafbooks.co.uk One Story
