Yahoo! is on an acquisition rampage (see also dialpad.com. I've not used blo.gs, but apparently someone at Yahoo! has, and they liked what they saw because they snapped it up.
Look for Google to snap something up soon. Maybe Tag Cloud, though that still seems a little green for acquisition.
