Here's Something / City of Spokane

I just took a gander at my stats and note that someone from the City of Spokane (or at least someone using a City of Spokane computer) accessed my website (having first Googled Jim West), likely to have a look at what's being said in the blog-O-rama-sphere. And I had a thought. It's entirely possible that Jim West himself is visiting my website. (Of course, it could be any number of city employees, but I had the thought anyway.) So. If you are Jim West and you are visiting this website, here's a well-meaning "hello..." I mean you no ill. I wish we lived in a world where a man was innocent until proven guilty... oh, wait a minute... but you've been hiding behind an enormous wall of lies... okay, but nothing has been proven about those felonous boys making those claims... but you've been using public property and abusing your power... but the city hasn't yet determined improper use of that power... oh heck. Here's the deal. You are no longer a good mayor, fair or not. We don't live in the world you've described, where a person can send out an email and say "sorry, I screwed up," and then just continue on like nothing has happened. So far as I know, that world doesn't exist. As citizens of the city of Spokane, we're all pretty sure you aren't going to accomplish much as mayor anymore, even if you've got really good ideas and balls of steel. So here's a few things you might think of doing. 1. Delete all porn from your computer. In fact, get some scrambling software and make sure it's good and shredded. 2. Resign while you still have some minor sense of dignity. 3. Retire somewhere that they don't know you. Somewhere they don't speak English, maybe (assuming there are no forthcoming lawsuits against you that keep you in the area). 4. Try to stay out of the news. We are not particularly happy about being painted as rocking and rolling with this sort of news. or I'm not anyway. I think that is evident from the numer of posts I've made on this subject. I so rarely talk about news stories here, and I've gone and made a number of those posts just because it's sort of driving me crazy... 5. Pray alot. Prayer is good for you. Even if you don't believe in it. I recommend it. 6. Now that you're out, stay out, and become an advocate for gay rights. This is one of the things that drives me crazy, bub. Too much is being made out of your being gay, and you obviously are enough of a self-hater that had this whole thing been about someone else, I would hate to have seen the quotes exiting your mouth... I won't attempt to pre-create them for you. Just, you know, look at what's happening to you. Try protecting somebody besides yourself for a change. 7. Did I mention that you should resign?
