By the Way Ellis Evidence of Joy
I forgot that I was going to report on the Ellis show (I was finally able to retrieve most of my work from my notebook). And here's a little story to tell you, in part, how it all went. My notebook hard drive died. It did the click of death. That is, it would work for a few moments, then "sha-click, hum, sha-click, hum, sha-click, hum," kind of like someone hitting very small hockey pucks with very small hockey sticks inside my computer. I had backed up very little. My back up system was this: "When my hard drive looks like it's going to die, I'll back everything up." Dumb. Very dumb. But we were going to see Ellis at the shop in about an hour. So I set the computer aside and managed to pack up my troubles and off we went. We took the kids. We sat and drank coffee and listened, and I managed to forget about my computer. Her chatter is a bit different than what you'd expect. At first it seems almost nervous, or a little crazy. Then you start to feel as if you're one of her friends. She talks, sings, interjects, and hums along like some fabulous musical thumb-top. We had a terrific time. And when she comes back (which i hear she's planning to do in October) I'll be there will very tiny bells on. Bells that sing very loudly. Oh, and by the way, Here's her new disc on Amazon.com %BB Evidence of Joy. How appropriately titled. I'm going to buy it just as soon as I can come up with the lettuce. I'm in love with this music. You should be too. PS: You can also get Ellis music from iTunes.
